Our trip to Washington was a blast! Mike had to work a lot so we ended up spending time with him in Seattle. Man, I just love how green everything is there! LeeAnn took us on a duck tour, so fun!
I know it doesn't look like I'm enjoying myself, but Eric decided to take this picture without telling me! So I am just off in space looking out to the distance. If you don't know what a duck tour is you should google it. It was way cool going out on the water. We even got to see the house where they filmed Sleepless in Seattle.
We also took a trip down to Pike Place Market where we got to watch the flying fish and tasted fresh fruit. All the produce there is so big and ripe, DELISH! The bakeries there had the best treats: chocolate filled croissants, macaroons, berry filled croissants. Oh it was good. :)
We drove a lot while we were in Washington since we were going to Seattle and back. Figures that we would have more pictures of Eric messing with the camera in the car than we have of our actual activities!
HAHAHAHA! Oh well, right? Washington was so fun that I was sad to leave. But when we hopped on our plane we weren't headed back to dull ol' Rexburg, we were headed to Phoenix!
Now, I feel bad because we don't have a single picture of our trip with Mel! We got to go to a casino, the second one that I have been to since I became legal. And I got to meet Eric's grandma. Boy, she is a hoot! I now see where LeeAnn gets her spunkiness!
Really, it was just great to be able to hang out with family. We don't get to do that very much, especially with Eric's side since they all live so far away! But we love the time that we do get to have with them.

Well I keep seeing my blog views climb and I haven't posted in almost a year! I know guys, I suck! I guess I really just need to find stuff to post about. The thing is, exciting stuff doesn't really happen when Eric and I constantly work opposite schedules! He has been working a lot of evenings and I have been working very very early mornings (like 4:00 wake up calls!). It really sucks not seeing each other a whole lot but it also makes it so that the time we do have together we cherish it that much more.
Recently Eric and I had the opportunity to visit his parents in Vancouver. I'll have to post more about that later.
We also got new couches! It was the most exciting purchase we have made in a LONG while. I'll post pictures of them later too.
I really just wanted to post so that you all would know that I am still alive! I will really try harder to post more frequently! But for now, here is a super cute picture of Eric, LeeAnn and I at Pike Place Market! Enjoy :)

Fall!
It's beginning to look a lot like fall at my house! I love the color this time of year. It's so rich and warm. It makes me want to cuddle up with a good book and a bowl of hot soup!
BUT...
When it looks like this outside my house, it makes me want to start decorating for Christmas!
P.S. I have already started to purchase my Christmas decorations and CAN'T WAIT (!!) to start putting them up in my house!
Happy November!

Sick as a Dog
Well, I realize it has been awhile since I last blogged, but I really have had nothing to blog about! Eric and I are both working and thats about all that we do.
This last wednesday I came home from work with a fever and when I woke up the next morning I had body aches and shivers. It was not good. So I asked one of my co-workers to cover for me and she obliged but couldn't be there til after 7:30 (which meant that I would have to go into work for 2.5 hours).
Well I went, and when I got home I was 100 times worse. I was puking and just miserable. I was up all night worshiping the porcelain throne. So of course the next morning I called my boss and she could tell just from my voice that I wasn't kidding about being sick. I had another co-worker cover my shift.
I woke up yesterday with the WORST stomach pain imaginable and again contacted my employer (after I had already thrown up) and she was MUCH less sympathetic today. She had complaints about it being my third sick day and how I have only been there for "3 weeks" (I have been there almost 5). Usually her husband or she will come in to cover shifts (so that they don't have to pay someone else to do it) but neither of them would cover my shifts for any of the days I was out. She also claimed to have "other commitments" with her husband so they couldn't cover for me. One of the employees that could have covered my shift had already reached 40 hours so they wouldn't let her come in, and the other girl had the day off so she was out of town. The bosses were basically saying that I would have to come into work no matter what. (This is a food service place! We serve ice-cream and sandwiches. AND I HAVE THE FLU!!! How is it that they could demand that I come into work when it would be more likely than not that I pass this bug onto someone else? Yeah, I don't get it either).
Well I laid in bed all day trying to conserve my strength because I was going to have to walk over to work since Eric had the car at his work. And eventually my alarm went off signally it was time for me to get ready for work. I stood up and immediately started to see stars. I told myself that I had had a blessing and Heavenly Father was going to help me do this. I prayed again in my heart that my bosses would be more understanding. I just couldn't go into work. I was too faint. I phoned the bosses again and this time they told me it would better for me to stay home.
Eric has been so good helping me through all of this. Waking up at the crack of dawn to give me more medicine and making sure I was comfortable. He wouldn't be in the bathroom while I was throwing up, and I am glad for that, I wouldn't want to be in there while he pukes either. But he would make sure I was comfortably back in bed when I was done. I am so grateful for him.
I know that it was my Heavenly Father Who blessed me with the strength to over come this bug. It was through Him that I was able to stay home from work to recover. I am so grateful to have a husband that is worthy to give me a blessing at any time. I don't know what I would do without this gospel in my life. I have surely felt its strength and the strength of my Heavenly Father this week.

Just an update: Eric and I both got jobs here in Rexburg!!! Thank you so much for all your prayers on our behalf.
I am now working at G's Dairy Delights. Its kinda like a mini grocery store with an ice-cream shop inside. We do WIC orders (sometimes through the drive up window) and we sell LOTS of ice-cream. I have learned how to make waffle cones and I am the master at buttering bread for grilled cheese!
Eric is working at McDonald's. (As you can tell neither of us have very glamorous jobs...but hey! We take what we can get!) He just went through the orientation and will be starting next week.
Somehow we will have to figure out the car situation, because my bosses are a little weird and think that an "OPEN" sign is not enough to tell customers that we are open...they think that we also have to have a car parked in the lot to "seem open". I'm sure that the Lord will provide a way for us to accomplish what we need to! Either that or he will soften the hearts of my employers so that they will understand that I can't have the car ALL the time. (My work is REALLY close to our apartment so I can walk there).
Anyways, thank you all, again, for keeping us in your prayers. We really appreciate all the extra blessings!

So I realize it has been a MONTH since I last blogged! Sorry sorry....its been a busy month for Eric and I.
First off, Eric finished his semester at BYU-I with two A's and two B's! I am very proud of him! Some of those classes, well all of them, looked like they were pretty hard....so to see him pull good grades was awesome! He also has had interviews for some jobs which is a blessing for us. I find it hard to believe that the first places he has applied to have interviewed him...since I have been looking since we moved here to Rexburg! Oh well. At least he has found something. Wal-mart has hired him to work in Idaho Falls, but he still needs to train since they couldn't train him while he was in school. Well, we went to Burley this last week and when we got back we found out that he was supposed to train while we were gone...NO ONE EVER TOLD HIM! He never got a call telling him that he was scheduled to train. Needless to say we are a little bitter towards this hiring manager that was supposed to call him once they had scheduled him. What this means now: He will have to wait about two more weeks before they can get him back in the system (he was kicked out of their system since he was a "no-show") which means we just lost about $200. LAME. So since Wal-mart has been mostly uncooperative he has been applying at other places. (We are really hoping that he can get a job in Rexburg). He had an interview today at K-mart and he feels like it went well. We can hope it did! He will hear back from them in about a weeks time. He may also start training for a door to door sales program here in Rexburg. Its not a very reliable job but it would bring in some income!
As for me, I have applied almost everywhere. Eric had found that the best place to look for job openings in on Craigslist, so he has been helping me by applying me for almost every job on there! I got a call today to set up an interview to work as a receptionist at a dental office. I am crossing my fingers that I get hired! It will be only the third interview that I have had since Eric and I got married. Pray for me!
I have also been busy working on some of my projects. I have sewn some lounging pillows for the couch and they turned out great! They aren't anything spectacular but they work. We now have all of the bedding that I made for us before we got married so our bed is looking pretty smashing! I'm loving that we are finally using all the stuff that I made for us.
I have also been busy reading some books and I am LOVING IT! I have started the Percy Jackson series and I think they are the best read since I read Twilight. I go through them so fast its almost ridiculous. Eric complains that he loses his wife when I get into a book...I have to agree with him...but I lose my husband when his sporting events are on TV! Its a fair trade. I also found out that I can get a library card! FOR FREE! Some of you might think I'm a little weird but I have never had a library card that didn't have stipulations. Growing up outside of city limits had some downfalls. But now that I can have a library card...lets just say that I am super excited. Some other books that I am planning on reading are: the Fablehaven series, the Gemma Doyle Trilogy (A Great and Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels, and The Sweet Far Thing), and I am thinking of starting over on the Charlie Bones series. (I lost track of where I stopped reading them so I figure I need to start over).
If you want some book suggestions I have tons....a favorite author of mine is Jodi Picoult (author of My Sister's Keeper) her books are awesome! Also, you cannot go wrong with a Jack Weyland book (LOVE HIM!). If you are into fantasy I would suggest E.D. Baker's The Frog Princess series. They are a very easy read and super funny. I really like to just go into the section where all the LDS author book are...I have so many LDS author books its a bit silly.
Anywho...Please keep Eric and I in your prayers so that we might find jobs close to home! Thanks to you all!

So I realize it is now a bit past the 4th of July, but I wanted to blog about the fun day that Eric and I had. (And we actually planned it ahead of time!) Last year on the 4th Eric had the idea to go to a baseball game. I had never been to one (besides high school ones) so he was REALLY excited to be taking me to one. Well it turned out that I loved every minute of it! I thought it was so much more fun to actually be there at the game than to watch it on TV.
This year we decided to make it a tradition. (At least for the time that we are in Rexburg) The only difference this year is that we decided to make a day of it. We got up and ready and headed to Idaho Falls at about lunch time. We had saved all month to be able to go out to eat and spend what we had set aside. Those of you that know Eric will know exactly where we went out to eat at.... that's right, we went to Chile's. I find it enjoyable but not as much as he does!
So we started out our day at Chile's. I wanted to make sure that we also had some time to go shopping. :] But not the kind of shopping that I am usually found doing. I wanted to look at beds! Yep, you heard me right, Eric and I have a REAL bed now! We have been sleeping on a air mattress for the first 3 months that we have been married and now we actually have a real mattress and box springs. (We didn't really get that bed the 4th but it was over that weekend that we did purchase one.)
After the furniture/mattress stores it was time to head over to the baseball diamond. Eric has this strange desire to be at the game an hour before it even starts. If you ask me, its a little CRAZY!!! So we made sure that our friends knew where they were headed. (Sean and his date, Nate and his date)
Eric and I had also discussed having the "real" baseball experience. So we got hot dogs and peanuts and all the stuff you would find at a baseball game! (Excluding the alcohol!) It was truly the most fun that we have had this summer! I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. I think the best part of the whole day was the fact that I spent it all with my wonderful husband.
The best part of the day for Eric was the fireworks. He wanted to be close enough to feel the boom and get covered in ash. Well it worked! We were definitely close enough to get covered in ash and my lungs hurt afterwards because the booms were so HUGE! Eric made sure to tape it for us so that I could upload it on here.
Overall it was a fantastic day! Idaho Falls sure knows how to pay tribute to our nations birthday!
